Graduated from Nanyang Polytechnic in 2004 with a Diploma in Information Technology, I continued to pursue a Bachelor degree with University of Wollongong in the same field and graduated in 2010. Like all my peers, I believed in a stable lifestyle – report to work from Monday to Friday, 9am – 6pm, drawing a fixed salary and relax for the weekends. This painful cycle went on for 4 long years. One day, I chanced upon this book titled “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki. Upon reading the first few pages of this book, I realized that I was actually in the “rat race”, and it was indeed the Great Singapore Rat Race. The more I went on reading, this inner voice in me was calling this word out loudly. That word is “CHANGE”. Questions started to fill my mind. “Am I willing to spend the next 30 years working for someone just to barely make ends meet?”… “By the time I am 50, do I still have to do that” … Or “How can I afford that Mercedes/BMW which most riches are driving?” I pondered for months and still couldn't decide. That final kick-in the butt came from this old uncle I met in a kopitiam one afternoon, and I clearly remember his inspiring advice till today. It was mentioned in Mandarin and if translated in English, it means “Working for somebody will never make you rich” So that’s it. I decided to quit my job despite having a high 4-figure pay, and moved on the pursue the route toward financial freedom. 4 years have passed, and today I am very much on track towards my financial goals. I have fully understood the idea of making your money work hard for you, instead of working hard for money. I was so convinced that I adopted this as much as a religious belief. Or rather a philosophy. By the age of 28, I have managed to achieve a 6-figure annual income and a year on at the age of 29, I managed to own my very first private property. And today almost turning 31, on average I spend only 3 days a week working, and the rest for leisure. Also I have continued to inspire many property buyers/sellers to shift their focus towards building their wealth and attaining financial freedom. If I have done that for my life, and I have helped it for others, I can also help to change yours.
